Billy The Buck.... there's absolutely no meaning behind his name. I should have named him something Thankgiving-ish but my mind wasn't working that day.
Jesse and I had 4 days to fill our whitetail tags so we opted to go hunting again instead of go home for Thanksgiving with our families. I know, we're crazy.
BUT, it paid off for us last year with Jesse's Thanksgiving buck and it paid off this year with my Thanksgiving buck!
Thankful is the exact word I use to describe this buck. We hadn't even hunted a full day. It was freezing a** cold. Not as cold as the 5* days we had last year but it was cold. I took three naps and was OVER it. I was ready to pack up at about 2pm and call it a day.
At about 3:30pm, an adorable little doe strolled in to our blind and not far behind her was Billy the buck!
He was quartered to me so I lined up on his left shoulder and straight through the heart my bullet went! I made a perfect shot!
BUCK. DOWN!
Here's Billy. A perfect, symmetrical 4x4. And man am I grateful for him!
I hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving!
We sure did!
