Friday, Jesse and I headed back to Wenatchee early. We got home just in time for dinner which was SUPER nice! We usually get there around 10 or 11pm which makes for a really short weekend. My dad took us out to eat at Wenatchee's Golf & Country Club for Jesse's birthday. We all ate a delicious cut of prime rib and baked taters, enjoyed each others company, and caught up on the last 2 months of our lives that we have missed. It was perfect.
After dinner we went to my dad's friends house, Ryan & Wendy. My dad's drum set is there for the time being so he rocked out for a few. I absolutely LOVE hearing my dad drum. He surprised me and played to "our" song. I cried. Ya, I'm a baby. But it meant A LOT to me! Double perfection.
After Ryan & Wendy's, it was getting late but we still managed to squeeze in a quick trip to see my niece, Abby. It wasn't nearly enough time but it was great to see her, my sis Sam, and brother Ray. Triple perfection.
Saturday morning, I woke up to eggs Benedict, thanks to my amazing dad. He definitely knows the way to my tummy!!! After a de-lish breaky, I was off to Chelseas for a girls day! My mom, Cass, & Lyla met up there also. My sisters, niece, and my mom all to myself for the day??? AMAZING! I miss them SO much when I am gone and since I live with a man and have never had a girls day with friends here in Lewiston, it was MUCH needed. I cherish the days we get to hang out, just us girls. (well, Chris was there too but he keeps to himself. HA! Who am I kidding? He's center of attention but we love him so that's ok) ;o) We didn't do too much. We relaxed, oo'ed and awe'ed at Lyla, took a few pictures, and enjoyed each others company. It was amazing.

Cass asked if I would take Lyla for the night on Saturday. DUH! Hello?! Why did she even ask?! Silly mamma!!! I jumped on that opportunity like she was going to retract the offer! Holy schmokes! You mean, me? Watch Lyla bug? For the NIGHT?! Honored. Completely. I am SO blessed!
Yup, I got puked on, pooped on, and drooled on... but I wouldn't have said no for anything! I love that sweet baby girl SO much!!! Her new favorite thing is clapping. She claps at everything and she punches her bottle. She's perfect.
The weekend quickly came to an end. Unfortunately. I feel like we never have enough time. If I would have had even 5 more hours, I would have: stolen Abby from Ray & Sam. went to see my Grandpop. met up with a few friends for coffee and probably would have gone to Apple Annie's. Only the best antique store ever! But, I didn't have 5 extra hours... so.... next time. Yes, next time.
Jesse got his Montana Muley buck back from Tubbs Taxidermy in Wenatchee over the weekend. SWEET! I am beyond excited to have it back! It's only been a year and a half! Sheesh! Problem? It was the buck or Ace that came back to Lewiston. Not both. Jesse's mom and dad quickly made the decision for us. They miss Ace so incredibly much so they were thrilled when Jesse agreed to leave him in Rock Island until they come visit us mid-May. So, we packed up the ol' buck and we were off! Chelsea had a fantastic idea... to put the buck in the front seat, put some aviator sunglasses on him and cruise around like it was no big deal. I wanted to SO badly.... but, we didn't. I just had the other goofy looking guy in the front seat. Yup, Jesse.
He looks pretty sweet if you ask me. =o)
Once we got settled back in, we went and bought a lawn mower, a few shrubs, and a blueberry bush! Did you know Costco sells blueberry bushes?! Can you imagine how happy I was?! I think I squeeled like a little kid I was so excited! Costco tends to have that effect on me. A lot. It's the little things in life.
Once we got back home, I quickly realized one of my dreams was about to come true. An owl was happily perched on one of our pine trees in the back yard. It kept "Who... whoo!"ing and I was basically in heaven. Owl's are my very favorite animal. They didn't used to be. Owl's were my Grandmom's favorite animal. Once she passed, I quickly began loving them. Not just liking them. Everytime I see one, (which is rare) I feel like she is watching over me a little extra that day. So, to hear that owl in my back yard made my day. I quickly whipped out my camera and started snapping away. Oohing and Aweing at all if its amazingness. Perfect. Absolutely perfect.
